VALUES

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL HORS-SOL Festival is imagined as a space for expression and joyful experimentation — a summer break that’s both collective and personal, where freedom, open-mindedness, and respect for one another are essential pillars. As a collective, we do our best to create the most welcoming and enjoyable setting possible, so that everyone involved in this joyful escape can have a truly memorable experience. That’s why we ask you to take a moment to read these practical notes and helpful reminders — so together, we can make this adventure as beautiful as it can be.

CARE & RESPECT FOR ALL Respect each other's space, consent, and bodies — and always be mindful of those around you. Take responsibility for your actions, your words, and yourself. The care and vigilance of everyone are essential to maintaining a peaceful, respectful, and safe community throughout these three and a half days of celebration. If you witness any dangerous or discriminatory behavior — whether sexist, racist, homophobic, or any other form of harassment — please report it immediately to the festival team which is trained to handle problematic situations.

PROTECT & RESPECT THE NATURE Our festival takes place in a protected natural area — respecting it is not only essential, it's a shared responsibility. Our team of volunteers will help keep the site, toilets, and showers clean. But we’re counting on you to do your part: don’t drop cigarette butts or litter, and pick up anything you might find along the way. These small, mindful actions — when multiplied by everyone — make the experience more enjoyable for all of us: organizers, volunteers, and participants alike.

PARTY RESPONSIBLY Throughout the event, take care of one another — as if we were one big family. Party responsibly and mindfully, and leave excess behind. This is first and foremost about your health and safety, but also about our shared responsibility as organizers and participants. Any dangerous behavior — whether personal or directed at others — must be reported immediately to volunteers or staff. Such behavior may result in immediate removal from the event.

DISCONNECT TO CONNECT Our event is meant to be a positive, human-scale bubble of disconnection. We encourage you to fully embrace this chance to set aside your phones and social media, using them only when truly necessary. While photos are not forbidden, please respect the privacy of those who prefer not to be photographed. We also promote a party philosophy where the dance floor is dedicated to dancing — not to taking pictures or sharing on social media. This way, the experience of the party, the freedom to let go, and the connection with your body will be all the more powerful.

CAMPING & SLEEPING

CAMPING AREA Campfires and glass containers are strictly prohibited on the campsite. For your comfort, the campsite is located in a calm, shaded area. The campsite is a place of rest where respecting others’ peace and sleep is essential. Portable speakers are not allowed on the campsite at any time, day or night, so everyone can enjoy their chosen rest hours. Above all, the campsite is a space of tranquility. Campsite is open on Sunday night, for people who want to rest and leave on Monday morning.

RENTALS (bungalows, chalets, yurts) Rentals are strictly personal; sharing or use by anyone not registered on the booking is not allowed. Guests occupying the rentals must bring their own sheets and duvets. As with camping, rental accommodations must be respected in terms of cleanliness and noise levels. All rentals (except tipis) must be vacated by Sunday at 1 p.m.

SHOWERS A shower block will be available for those camping on site. When using it, please avoid letting the water run too long so others don’t have to wait and to reduce waste. If possible, use eco-friendly toiletries. Take short showers to freshen up, and feel free to use the swimming pool to cool down.

TOILETS Toilet cabins will be installed near the campsite, in addition to the toilets already on site. To help keep them clean throughout the festival, please leave them as tidy as you found them, and be mindful of the volunteers who take care of their maintenance. This way, everyone can enjoy a much more pleasant experience at this little corner of the site :)

OTHERS MUST READS

FOOD Quality food at affordable prices is our main concern this year. A catering service and food-truck will be available throughout the festival. All dishes are mainly vegetarian and prepared by our catering team using local, seasonal products. This ensures better traceability, as well as healthy, balanced, and flavorful food.

ALCOOL A 24-hour bar service is available on site, offering mainly local and artisanal products sourced from the region—all at affordable prices. Due to the festival’s limited capacity and our status as a 100% independent project, bringing your own alcohol into festival areas (stages, food area, chill-out zones, etc.) is strictly prohibited. This rule helps us maintain a safe, friendly atmosphere and supports the festival’s independent spirit. Tolerance is granted only in the camping area. Please note that glass containers are strictly prohibited throughout the entire festival site and camping area. We kindly ask you to respect these rules to ensure everyone’s safety and the quality and safety of the festival experience.

SWIMMING POOL The pool will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. For safety reasons, attendance will be regulated and limited by our team. Please stay calm around the pool and avoid jumping or any behavior that could cause falls or injuries.

WEATHER & CLOTHES Temperatures on the Causse Noir plateau can be high in July, ranging from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius. Remember to protect your skin with eco-friendly sunscreen, cover your head if needed, and stay well hydrated throughout the event. On the other hand, nights can be quite chilly and cold due to the altitude (900m). Be sure to bring warm clothing or blankets, as temperatures can drop significantly after sunset.
